Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora
Our journey begins in Marrakech, where our experienced guides will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning. The first leg of our trip will take us through the majestic Atlas Mountains, where you’ll be captivated by the stunning vistas of lush valleys and traditional Berber villages. Don’t forget your camera, as this scenic drive offers countless photo opportunities!
As we continue our expedition, we’ll make a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient fortress, with its intricate mud-brick architecture, has served as the backdrop for numerous famous films and TV shows. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another world as you explore the narrow alleys and historical landmarks within its walls.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll head towards Zagora, crossing the Draa Valley with its breathtaking palm groves and picturesque oases. As we approach Zagora, the landscapes will gradually transform into the iconic sand dunes that symbolize the Sahara Desert.
Day 2: Zagora Desert Excursion
Rise and shine to witness the magical sunrise over the Sahara Desert. Prepare to be spellbound as the golden hues stretch across the endless sand dunes, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.
Today, we’ll embark on an unforgettable camel trek through the dunes, allowing you to experience the Sahara like a true nomad. Our experienced camel guides will lead the way, sharing stories and insights into the desert’s history and traditions. Don’t forget to take in the serene tranquility and vastness of the desert – it’s an experience that will stay with you forever.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit a traditional Berber camp, where you’ll enjoy a delicious Moroccan lunch and have some free time to relax. Experience the warm hospitality of the locals, listen to traditional music, and perhaps try your hand at sandboarding on the dunes.
As the day comes to a close, prepare for a night under the stars. The Sahara’s clear night skies offer a spectacular display of constellations, creating an enchanting atmosphere that will leave you in awe.
